stephanieStephanie

Stephanie Washington has loved singing in worship bands and serving in youth ministry for years. She has also struggled with chronic health issues for a very long time. Back in 2007, she prayed for God to bring her new motivation for exercising and God answered her prayer almost immediately through Yahweh Yoga. On her yoga mat, she found a place as nourishing to her soul, as to her physical body. He grew a desire in her heart to share this newfound blessing with others and she has since gone through Yahweh Yoga’s teacher certification. She is now finding a perfect marriage of the gifts God has given her, with her heart’s desire for ministry as she leads others in worship to their Savior through yoga practice.

heidiHeidi

My yoga journey began ten years ago when a friend of mine opened her own studio.  After one class, I was hooked and I immediately fell in love with my yoga mat.  Since then, I have practiced a variety of yoga styles and keep myself open to different paths of learning.  As an occupational therapist, my knowledge of the human body is extensive and practicing yoga helps me build upon my foundation.  Last spring, I decided to take my practice to the next level in becoming a yoga teacher.  Teacher training was the beginning of an incredible journey of discovering myself, becoming more aware of my life’s purpose, and experiencing the deeper meaning of practicing and teaching yoga.  My focus is to teach yoga on a regular basis so I am able to share the gifts God has so graciously given me.  He has lead me to Yahweh Yoga and I consider it an honor and a blessing in being able to guide others through a yoga class.  I am married and have two beautiful boys, Colter (10 yrs old) and Ben (8 years old).  Ben has Autism and he has made tremendous progress on this journey.  God has used yoga in drawing me closer to Himself, and in doing so, has given me eyes to see what it is my son needs and at just the right time.  My passion lies in a daily yoga practice, daily prayer with our Lord, commitment to my family, and in helping other parents bring their child out of the darkness of Autism.
