Arm Balance & Inversion Workshop

Saturday January 28th, 2011 - 5pm to 7pm

Journey into LIGHT-ness!!

Uplift your yoga practice by working with John Salisbury, as we uncover the foundations necessary for inversion and arm-balance confidence. Most people have a narrow understanding of how the body works upside down and in arm-balancing postures. We will break down the essence of specific poses, such as rotations of the limbs, how flexibility plays into these postures, and the nature of the bandhas (inner muscle contractions that help to stabilize energy).

This class will use sun salutation variations and flow to heat the body and prepare it for inversion work, while offering instruction on how to ground your poses through flexion and uplift with breath. Your breath is the fuel for flying in arm-balances. We will workshop inversions and arm-balances for beginners, intermediate, and advanced practitioners from a technical standpoint and offer modified postures as building blocks.

We will join together at the studio then hike up South Mountain together while taking periodic yoga breaks. We are blessed to live in a city that offers both Yahweh Yoga and a stunning urban hiking environment. Let’s bring in some fresh air and a new spirit of exploration to our practices. We meet new friends and play with familiar ones.

We sweat and breathe up and down the hill then settle into yoga postures in this beautiful setting of the glorious desert.

lululemon chooses first Christian Yoga Ambassadors!

We have long loved lululemon’s clothing, mats and yoga gear.  We used to have to go to Biltmore Fashion Park in central Phoenix to purchase our fabulous fashions from lululemon and when we heard that they were going to open a store right here in Chandler at Chandler Fashion Center….well, we were over the moon!

When their representatives came to visit all the studios in Chandler in order to connect with their new community we were blessed by their visit. We found their staff and management to be warm, sharp, community minded and, of course, beautiful and fashionable yogi’s and yogini’s. Little did we know at first that they were also seeking lululemon Ambassadors for their new store.  lululemon Ambassadors are an international group of unique yoga teachers who lululemon is proud to have represent their commitment to community, excellence in teaching and warmth in personal style.

We were thrilled that the two female ambassadors they selected for their Chandler store were both Yahweh Yoga graduates!  Our own Co-Founder Courtney Chalfant ERYT and graduate Tamara Buschel RYT. Thank you lululemon! You ROCK!
