Spiritual Conversations By Joan Webb

I love studying Scripture and the meanings of the words in the original language–and then paraphrasing the verse based on my learning/s. Here’s an example with a verse God gave me as I recovered from burnout.
“The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.” Is. 58:11
Dear God, You’re my source and authority. You repeatedly point out the way before me. You fulfill my needs and expectations when I feel dried up–and generously offer me power to live my day with healthy thoughts and actions. Because of you I have the promise of becoming like a well-watered garden full of fresh insight and fertile ideas. Thank You for giving me strength for this day and celebration hope for tomorrow. Joan C. Webb paraphrase of Isaiah 58:11

Intimacy with God

It is not about Religion, It is about a Relationship.
What are you doing to cultivate your relationship with Christ? It is so much more than going to church on Sundays. We have all heard of those who are devoted to their faith one day a week, but how can you grow more with your intimacy with HIM? Are you diving into the Word? How much time do you really spend in enhancing your relationship with your Savior. Are you lifted up to be all you can be in Christ our Lord?
Is His glory released into your heart and life as it should be? We must come to the realization that we were created to fellowship with our Creator. We need Him and He desires us.
In this season of celebrating Jesus birth, I ask that you celebrate your growth with Him as well. Take more time to nurture your time with Him. Set aside a place and time to have a meaningful relationship with your God.
“Draw near to God and he will draw near to you.”
(James 4:8a RSV)

Choose Happiness

You have the choice each day what your outlook will be. Why not choose positive thoughts as you awake like…
Lord my heart is open. Let joy now flow into me. Let me shine for you in such a way Lord that when people see me, I am shining for you. I choose to feel good about myself each day. Every morning I remind myself that I can make a choice to feel good and to be happy.
“I have learned that the greater part of
our misery or unhappiness is
determined not by our circumstance
but by our disposition.”
- Martha Washington
You want peace? Create peace for someone. You want happiness? Make someone happy. You want wealth? Enrich someone’s life. You want health? Take care of those in need of care. You want love? Give someone love. You want to be understood? Take the time to understand someone else.
Proverbs 15:13
A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.

Full confidence in God is the only way to live

Full confidence in God is the only way to live, especially during these times. 100% confidence, not 99%. Only then do we authentically center with Christ, tucked in His heart, unafraid and at peace, above the fray of today’s harsh news.
Full 100% confidence in God is the only way to stay mentally and heartfeltly centered within in the place of peace where miracles do happen regardless of what the world is saying and/or doing. A prayer for you knowing with full confidence that He keeps His promises:
Psalm 109: 21-22(The Message)
Oh, God, my Lord, step in;
work a miracle for me - you can do it!
Get me out of here - your love is so great!
I’m at the end of my rope.
Psalm 109: 26-29(The Message)
Help me, oh help me, God, my God,
save me through your wonderful love;
Then they’ll know that your hand is in this,
that you, God, have been at work.
Psalm 116: 7-8 (The Message)
I said to myself, “Relax and rest.
God has showered you with blessings.
Soul, you’ve been rescued from death,
you’ve been rescued from your tears.
Walk in love

God’s love for us is without boundaries; His love endures forever.
Imagine if we loved on earth this way? No conditions or expectations on others?
Psalm 13:5
But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
Psalm 33:22
May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.
Put your trust and hope in the ONE who believes in you the most.
We at Yahweh Yoga love you.

Stand firm in your walk with the Lord. He is your Rock and Redeemer.
Psalm 19:14
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 78:35
They remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.
Stand firm in your walk with the Lord. He is your Rock and Redeemer.
Listening

It is in the quiet moments in life we hear HIM speak to us the loudest. Still yourself to a quiet place within and listen for your sweet Savior. When you are quiet within you can listen and grow.
- You’re my place of quiet retreat; I wait for your Word to renew me.
Psalm 119:114 (The Message)
- Teach me, and I will be quiet; show me where I have been wrong.
Job 6:24 ( NIV)
- The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.
Ecclesiastes 9:17 (NIV)
- The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)
- Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
1 Peter 3:4 (NIV)
“Be a good listener. Your ears will never get you in trouble.” -Frank Tyger

“If you don’t go all the way with me, through thick and thin, you don’t deserve me. If your first concern is to look after yourself, you’ll never find yourself. But if you forget about yourself and look to me, you’ll find both yourself and me.” Matthew 10:38-39 (The Message)
The more I think about surrendering, the calmer I am as a woman. I find that surrendering does NOT mean to give up because there is effort involved in surrendering, much like there is in an exhale.
We have to be reminded sometimes that it is not always about “me” that HIS plan is perfect and we need to trust in HIM for all things.
Surrender with effort, my friends. Please comment below to share your thoughts, stories, or issues with surrender.
God is love.
